3 Steps in the Journey to Medicare Enrollment

Prepare, Review, and Enroll: We use a three-step approach to help you find and enroll in the Medicare coverage that’s right for you.

A little preparation goes a long way. Create an account so you can save your searches. You can shop without creating an account, but you won’t be able to save your selection. Have these items on hand to help tailor your search to your specific needs:

  • Your Medicare card

  • A list of prescriptions with drug name, dosage, and frequency

  • A list of your current doctors

  • The name of your pharmacy

Choosing the type of plan that fits your needs will be your most significant decision. Medicare Supplement Insurance (Medigap) or Medicare Advantage have cost-sharing and network differences. See the graphic below to get a basic understanding of the differences.

Medigap and Part D Prescription Drug Coverage

Medigap works alongside Medicare Parts A and B to cover medical costs. Pairing it with a Part D plan completes your coverage.

Medicare Advantage (MA/MAPD) All-in-One Plan

Known as Part C, MA or MAPD plans feature networks and lower out-of-pocket costs, and some include options such as dental and vision plans for an additional cost.

Once you’ve decided what type of Medicare plan is right for you, you’re ready to enroll. Enrolling online is fast and easy.

If you prefer calling, Via Benefits will answer your questions and take the time you need to feel confident about your choice. We recommend making an appointment, especially during Medicare’s Open Enrollment Period from October 15 - December 7.
