Considering Retirement
Medicare-Eligible

Via Benefits helps guide you through retirement health insurance choices — all at no cost to you. Our goal is to help you understand your options and find coverage that fits your health and financial needs, whether you’ll be Medicare-eligible soon or need coverage before enrolling in Medicare.

Make the Most of Your Medicare Eligibility

Whether you’re planning to retire at 65 or beyond, it’s important to keep your Medicare eligibility in mind as you consider and prepare for retirement.

Once you make the decision about when you’re going to retire, you can review and choose your Medicare coverage. To avoid a gap in coverage, enroll in a Medicare plan before your current coverage ends. We recommend enrolling in new coverage one month before your retirement date.

Important: No matter at what age you retire, you need to enroll in Parts A and B before you can purchase Medicare coverage. Once that is complete, schedule an appointment with Via Benefits two to three months before your retirement date to understand the next steps and your coverage options.
